We are thrilled to be helping yet another local charity in Peterborough, the Amazon Children’s Unit at Peterborough Hospital. We are donating some raffle prizes for the event but also attending the event as volunteers so we can help them keep track of how much money is raised through the night.

The Amazon Children’s Unit at Peterborough Hospital look after children and families from across the county; they could be dealing with anything from a child that has swallowed a pound coin right through to a child with life limiting conditions. The work done by the staff at Amazon Children’s Unit is second to none and we are more than happy to help this charity fundraiser in any way we can.

The organisers of the Amazon Ball are nurses on the Amazon Children’s Unit and hope to be able to raise enough funds to allow them to purchase some of the equipment for all areas of the Peterborough City Hospital where children are nursed, this includes the Amazon ward, the emergency department, the head and neck unit, the fracture clinic and many other areas of the hospital.

It is also hoped that the Amazon Ball will raise money so some of the rooms where children are nurse and families stay over can be decorated, allowing an improvement for the children and their families as well as offering a home from home look and feel to the room to make the experience as stress free as possible.

When this Amazon Ball last took place in 2012 it was a huge success and raised a massive £33,000 which made a really positive impact on the environment and the facilities for the children, their parents and families.

If you would like to make a donation or donate a prize for the raffle or auction then please contact the Amazon Ball or drop it into our office in Lynchwood and we will take the donation on your behalf

Come on guys; let’s see how much money we can raise for this for this amazing charity event.
