When you start your own business, you do so because you know and love what you do. However, when running your own business, you aren’t just doing what you love. You’re also doing a lot of things that you don’t know. One of these things is marketing your business and managing your Facebook business page. There are frequently asked Facebook business page questions we get a lot.

As a small online marketing company in Peterborough, we speak to a lot of small business owners. They have started their own business and they have found they can make a career from something that they love. However, they have quickly realised that there is a lot more to running a business than just doing something they love. We want to be a trusted friend for new business owners like this. This is why we get asked a lot of questions about the world of online marketing.

In this blog post we look at three of the most frequently asked Facebook business page questions that we get asked. We share our answers below too. Hopefully, as a new business owner, this will you gain a better understanding of Facebook marketing for your business.

  • Is There A Difference Between A Personal And Business Facebook Page?

In short yes. A personal Facebook page is your profile page where you have your friends and family. It is under your personal name. Meanwhile, a business page should be a separate page. This should be under your business name. If you were to post too much about your business on your personal page, you could get penalised by Facebook.

  • How Much Is A Facebook Business Page?

If you set up your Facebook business page yourself then this is free. Alternatively, we can set up and create the Facebook page for you. This would cost a one-off fee of £50. It is completely free of charge have a Facebook page. However, you will need to pay if you decide to run Facebook advertising campaigns or boost your posts. That said, these additional services are optional. If you don’t use them then your Facebook business page is still free.

  • Can I Separate My Business Page And My Personal Account?

Yes and No. The pages cannot be separated as such. You need a personal account to set up a business page. However, to the audience of your Facebook business page, your name is not seen. Therefore, people will not know you and the business page are connected. They will only know if you tell them. One page is not publicly listed on the other.

Some business owners chose to set up a new personal Facebook account under a different name or work email address. While this is possible, it is something to be wary of. Facebook may see the new personal profile as a fake account. Once again, this could result in you, or your page being personalised.
