As you may have seen from our social media posts, we had some pretty good news a few weeks ago. We are over the moon to announce that we are Peterborough Small Business Awards 2020 Finalists for the Peterborough Business Woman of the Year category.
Let’s start at the beginning – thank you to the wonderful people that nominated us for this award. We don’t know who you are, but we are very grateful. At this time when the business world is so uncertain, being nominated and then being made finalists for these awards just feels amazing.
Here at Creative Content Company we were lucky enough to win Service Business of the Year, Inspirational Business Owner of the Year and Overall Small Business of the Year awards in the Peterborough Small Business Awards 2018. To have been recognised in another category within these brilliant awards – it’s bloomin’ awesome to be fair!
However, the competition is extremely tough and I have some really good friends, clients and business contacts in these awards.
For example, Charis of Chef de la Maison is someone I have networked with since the business began in 2013. Charis is an inspiration as a business owner with over 20 years under her belt. She has been through the rollercoaster of being a business owner and survived to tell the tale. Charis is always happy to chat problems through and offer advice.
Lindsay ay MD EastLife IT is another fabulous business owner. This is the second time we have been at the same awards. Last time was in 2017 and the Peterborough Women’s Awards. We were up for different categories and she deservedly walked away with the Women in Tech Award for her category. Lindsay is always sharing amazing tips and advice on LinkedIn, she is well worth connecting with.
Nicki from HR Your Business Matters is just phenomenal. She is someone that is open and honest, always willing to give advice and guidance where she can. Her business has grown from strength to strength over the years and it’s been great to see. I regularly see Nicki at networking events professional growing the brand awareness of her business, while genuinely just helping others in business.
Louise Manning at Arkflux is that person I just saw everywhere I went, and if I didn’t see her everyone was raving about her. That was until we were both chosen as partners for the Peterborough Biscuit Business Event in 2019. It was great to learn more about what she and Arkflux do. I can assure you it’s amazing and I would highly recommend linking up with her to find out more.
These are just 4 of the finalists, and then there is me and one other person. Her name is Chloe Brewer and she runs Lady Writes Blog. I have never met Chloe but having looked at her blog it’s brilliant. She writes in a really natural style and covers loads of lifestyle type topics. Her blogs are well worth a read.
So, as you can see – the competition is tough. This is why I am so honoured to have been recognised as a Peterborough Business Woman of the Year Finalist. I would be lying if I said I didn’t mind not winning. Of course I would love to win this award. But it’s still pretty awesome to have been recognised among these other awesome Peterborough business women.
