In this blog post we would like to share with you why we think having more followers on Facebook isn’t always better and why targeted followers are much more valuable to your business.

We are often being asked if our clients should just buy followers and fans on Facebook to boost their numbers, but Facebook isn’t a number game for that reason. The numbers you need to look at are how many of your fans engage with you on Facebook and your posts, not how many people like your Facebook page.

When you buy followers and fans you won’t be getting the people that want to engage with you, chances are some will be fake followers and you will be merely buying numbers. While your real fans and followers may not know you are buying ‘fake fans’ they will be suspicious when your fans go from 30 to 3,000 in a few days and this can leave your integrity and reputation in tatters.

Facebook have confirmed that over 83 million accounts are fake on their platform and at the end of August last year they confirmed they will be removing fake likes from pages – which could leave those companies that had lots of like, with a lot less likes.

When you buy fans and followers on Facebook you are not only putting your reputation at risk but you are also running the risk of having your account suspended or deleted if Facebook feel this is what you are doing.

Instead of expecting fans and followers to be impressed with the amount of fans and followers you have, why not focus on creating a community around your brand who are interested in what your business offers and then you will reap the benefits of sharing engaging and good quality posts for your fans and followers to see and respond to.
