As our regular blog readers will know we are always keen to help our fans and contacts with inspiration for what to post on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and others in October. The ideas below will give you some inspiration of what you can put on your social media platforms during this month.
It’s Eat Better, Eat Together Month – why don’t you arrange a healthy office lunch one day this month where you all eat better together, take photos and share them on social media encouraging your fans and followers to do the same. If you work in a smaller office why not organise an event with networking buddies, clients and business contacts? Encourage attendees to use #EatBetterEatTogetherMonth as a hashtag on all social media posts.
It’s also Learn to Bowl month – What a great opportunity for some team bowling, Share the photos on social media to show you’re a company of ‘real’ people. You could also invite suppliers, customers, contacts and potential clients to come along too for a laid back networking event. The more people that are there, the more photos for social media you’ll have!
October is also Sausage Month! If you sell sausages this is a great chance for special offers on all sausage type foods. If you run a restaurant, cafe or hotel you could have a specials board full of deliciously sausagey treats and if you work in health or fitness why not share healthy sausage recipes and encourage your fans to do the same. Make sure you use the hashtag #SausageMonth so people don’t think you’ve gone mad.
The 1st-7th October is National Walk Your Dog Week – you could use this as a week to try out periscope for the first time. Again, make sure you use the hashtag #NationalWalkYourDogWeek on your Periscope broadcast and when you share the video and just chat while you’re walking your dog, you’ll find that if you’re customers or potential customers are dog owners too they will become connected to you.
The 11th-17th of October is National Food Bank Week so why not set up a bin for a collection in your office of food and treats for your local food bank? At Creative Content Company we collect donations for the food bank in Peterborough; we find that treats like Coffee, Tea Bags, Sugar, Beans and Pasta Sauces are always popular. You can then tweet a photo of your team with all the food you’ve collected and then maybe another photo at the food bank delivering the goodies. It might be a good idea to turn it into a blog post too to show others what you do in the community. The local newspapers may want to share it too!
A lovely day is the 2nd October, it’s World Smile Day so why not share photos of you or your team smiling or even something that will make others smile? Let’s spread that smiling throughout the world by using #WorldSmileDay hashtag on all social media posts and pictures.
