How many reviews do you have for your business? Do customers speak highly of the service or product you provide? It is not always easy to get testimonials and customer reviews. Hopefully this blog post will show you the importance of customer reviews.

  • Every 5 star review that a business gets on a review site it is expected that there will be an increase of 5% to 9% in business revenue.
  • Consumers are likely to spend 31% more on a business that has excellent customer reviews online.
  • 72% of consumers say that positive reviews make them have more trust in a local business.
  • It has been reported by Google that a business listing with at least 3 or more star reviews took 41 of the 47 clicks for that service / product.

Surely these stats have made you think about making that extra effort to get reviews and testimonials from your clients and customers?

However, we know that it can be really hard to get your clients and customers to leave reviews for you. Here at Creative Content Company we are lucky to have just over 200 customer reviews from happy customers. However, some of these clients did need to be reminded from time to time.

Google puts itself as the top place to get reviews as a local business. Then when you look at the results of consumers choosing to leave reviews for local businesses on Google, you can see why it is so hard.

Only 42% of consumers between the age of 18 and 24 years old are choosing to leave a review. This is followed by 40% of 25 to 34 year olds that are choosing to leave a review on Google.

The percentage goes down as the age range increases. Only 31% of 35 to 44 year olds will choose to leave a review on Google, which drops to 25% of 45 to 54 year olds.

Just 22% of 55 to 64 year olds and 25% of 65 year olds and over will choose to leave a review of your business, service or product on Google.

Consider how you can encourage clients to leave customer reviews for you. Also think about other places that customers can leave reviews for you. Most importantly think about how you can best utilise your testimonials.

For example, we have a testimonials page which is updated every time someone leaves us a review online. We share one testimonial a day on social media. Printed materials wise we also have two roller banners of testimonials and we use testimonials on some flyers and leaflets.
