Before those in the know jump on me and shout that this is an impossible thing to offer and a lie; I am in full agreement and that is why I am writing this blog post!
I would imagine that every single business at some time will receive an email with the subject line “We Can Get You On The First Page Of Google” – the fact I saw one of these emails for the first time about 7-8 years ago and I have seen one again just last month means that someone, somewhere must believe the emails they receive that promise to get your website on page one.
This is a copy of the email I received just last month;
Hi,
We are providing SEO service.
We can get your website on 1st page of Google.
We will also provide you References of some of our clients; you can ask them about our services if you don’t have website We also provide Websites Redesigning and Mobile app Services.
Reply on this e-mail for more info.

Firstly a sure sign of a company that is trying to spam or con you, especially in the digital and online world, is the email address. This was a personal yahoo address which should always set alarm bells ringing.
Also, they are making these promises without knowing anything about your business so how do they know the keywords you want to be found on page one for? Some keywords are much harder than others. For example, if you want to be found for your company name on page one this is relatively easy, but if you want to be found for plumbing this may be trickier as you have more competition.
If you get an email that seems too good to be true then it probably is, but if you’re ever unsure you can always forward it to us and we can let you know either way.
