In January we attended a wonderful charity fundraiser event organised by Smart Solutions Group. This is the second year we have attended and helped raised funds for their chosen local Peterborough charities. Each year we have donated in their pot and bought raffle tickets. However, as a small business there isn’t a lot we can donate financially. That doesn’t mean that we can’t help the local charities in Peterborough though.
As we did last year, we donated a raffle prize. This raffle prize was for £200 worth of blog posts. This was a prize that was featured alongside donations of whiskey, beer, champagne, football tickets and more. It was a prize people wanted and bought raffle tickets in the hope of winning.
We aren’t telling you this to brag. Instead, we are showing that however small your business might be. There is always a way that you can help local charities in Peterborough. While spending £10 on a raffle ticket might not seem like a huge amount, every little counts. But offering something, like time, is something of interest to a lot of business owners.

Smart Solutions Group organised a superb charity fundraising and networking event. It took place at Peterborough Cathedral and has between 30 and 50 businesses in attendance. Their chosen local charities in Peterborough were The Posh Foundation and Free Kicks Foundation.
The Posh Foundation was formed in 2009, formerly the Football in the Community Scheme. They have delivered a variety of projects across different areas. These include sports participation, social inclusion / community cohesion, health & wellbeing and education.
Their second charity is Free Kicks Foundation. This is a Nationwide charity with the aim to Love Football and Help Kids. As a charity, they provide football-related activities for ill, bereaved and disadvantaged children. This is done by giving them a day to remember with their favourite football club.
Well done Smart Solutions Group on raising nearly £2,5000 for local Peterborough charities. It was a fabulous event. We can’t wait to attend again next year, and we will happily donate our raffle prize again.
