A common question we are often asked by people we meet at networking events, when we are guest speaking or from our own clients is how they can get better results from their social media and how they can boost their engagement on their business social media platforms.
We know this is something many business owners want to know, so we thought we would right a blog post about it in the hope we can answer your question and give you some ideas too.
Many people think that social media management is very hard and extremely time consuming. While it does take time to build up a strong social media presence for your business, it really isn’t as hard as some people make out.
If you have a strategy for your social media management, know what you’re going to talk about and you have blogs ready to link back to then you will start to see better results from social media, but it will also be easier for you to manage!
It’s a good idea to take the time to understand your audience, which social media sites they hang out on and what they are interested in as well as what they want to engage with and what times they want to see it and engage.
While it may be tempting to jump on the next band wagon / hashtag, this is definitely not recommended. Quick wins lead to quick fails and will be a waste of your time as well as making you look like a company looking for shortcuts instead of caring about your audience.
Respect the social media platform that you are posting on; think about what audience each social media platform is targeted for and post relevant content on each. Remember that it is also quality content and posts over quantity. One or two good posts a day are better than 5-6 bad / non-relevant posts each day.
These top tips should help get you started, but if you’d like some social media training so you can manage your social media more effectively; or if you’d like to outsource your social media management altogether then drop us a line – we would be happy to help.
