Here at Creative Content Company, we have been creating blog posts and SEO content for over 12 years. We have never used AI to create the content we provide our clients with. We seem to have a unique skill where we can just come up with blog post ideas… which is a great skill to have in this line of work. However, we attended an event recently where Mike Greene was talking about AI, and we decided to give it a go. We asked AI for some blog post titles to help attract new clients to our online marketing business. AI suggested the title of this blog post: The Importance of Human Storytelling to Avoid AI Slop in 2026.

What we found really interesting about this title was the wording. The reason we don’t use AI to create content for our business or clients is because it isn’t ‘real’. I’m not sure I have ever used the word ‘slop’ in business or in personal life. So surely by using this word in my content or title, it screams AI? Is that the first impression I want to create for my business? Do I have to start using the word ‘slop’ in my own conversations to make my AI content seem more real?

This summarises, for us, why there is so much importance of human storytelling to avoid AI slop in 2026. By being real you can stand out. Consumers will see you as a real person or a real business. A consumer wants to work with a real person, not a robot. By using AI to share your story, instead of telling your story in your words, you are being a robot. This isn’t what consumers are looking for when looking for suppliers or businesses to purchase from.

We aren’t saying that you shouldn’t use AI to help create content for your business. However, we are saying you should use it to help. Don’t use it to create the content, use it to help you create the content. AI is amazing – when use properly.

It’s important to note that AI content isn’t ideal fort SEO ranking either. This is because the AI bots aren’t writing fresh content for you and your business. They are copying it from elsewhere. This means you are just re-sharing the content written by your competition. Instead of copying others, use human storytelling to make your business stand out, instead of following in suit.
