If you are a woman that uses toilets in service stations, you will know exactly what we are talking about in this blog post.

For the men out there, I have been reliably informed by my partner, you don’t have these. So this is what I am talking about.

On the inside of the toilet cubicle, as you close the door, you will see a poster. This poster has the photo of a poverty stricken person in a country where there is war going on. The content on the poster explains that the girl has lost her home and a member of her family to war. Now she has her period.

Here in the UK we are lucky enough to just go down the shop when we have our period. However its not that easy in other countries when there is war and fighting and poverty.

Every time I see this advert it calls out to me. I feel for the girl in the picture and can’t imagine what an awful situation she is in. I am reminded about just how lucky I am to live the life I live. To live in the country I do.

For just a one off donation of £3 they will send a sanitary pack to girls in these countries.

Usually when I am at a service station I am on my way to a big day out, weekend away, holiday or special occasion. I’m in a good mood, and want others to feel good too. I will often whip out my phone and donate £3.

It’s now become a thing. My partner always jokes that he will take my phone off me as I enter the toilet to save us £3. Every time I use a service station toilet, I will see the poster and donate £3,

At the end of the day, what is £3? I can’t even buy my ridiculously calorie filled coffee with cream and a flavoured syrup for that!

I encourage you all to do the same. If you’re a man reading this then ask a female to grab the text code for you. It’s not a big deal, but just think how much easier it could make someone’s life!
