In this article I have put together a list of ways your team can support the work your social media management team are doing in posting on Facebook. Often with smaller businesses you will outsource social media management and social media posting to a social media company so they can look after it for you, while you get on with what you’re good at.

However you will still need to be involved and this is why we put together these ideas to help you get the most from your Facebook management and posts. These ideas will increase the amount of people that see the posts; it will increase engagement and mean that more traffic goes back to your website too!

  • Firstly – like the business Facebook page
  • Share some of the posts to your own personal Facebook page, not all of the posts, but some of them. Especially if they are of interest to you or your audience.
  • Keep a close eye on the blog posts being shared on your website and Facebook, if you see one you think will be of interest to a client or networking buddy then share a link with them, or tag them on the Facebook post.
  • When meeting new clients or out networking, ask the people you meet to like your facebook page for latest up-dates, news, etc.
  • Send your social media manager photos of birthdays in the office, company anniversaries, happy clients, new office changes / furniture, new person in your team, something going on in the street outside, etc.
  • Comment on posts on Facebook – this will encourage others to engage too.
  • Instead of just clicking the thumbs up on the post on facebook, use the laugh, love, hate, etc emoji’s instead as these help posts get seen more than a ‘like’.
  • Share posts to local ‘area’ groups or industry groups that you may be a member of on Facebook and think the post will be of interest to.
  • If you have heard breaking news that affects your industry then email your social media manager, they can then create a blog post, and share lots of posts on social media for you.
  • When you have good feedback or a positive email, forward it to your social media team and they can share it for you.
  • If you have a newsletter, include a blog from the website in the newsletter, and links to Facebook too, to get more people on the page.
  • Put a link to the Facebook business page in your email footer
  • Tell your friends to like the page, invite your friends to the page and encourage others to do the same.
