When was the last time you updated your references? When did you last ask a client or customer for a reference, review or testimonial. If someone sent you a testimonial or a review, what did you do with it? If it’s sat in your email inbox, or is framed on the wall, what good is that doing for your business online? With Update Your References Week upon us (3rd-9th May) why not make it your job for the week to update your references.

References, reviews and testimonials are great for your business. They show your target audience who you, what you’re great at and why they should use you. References are also great for SEO. Having a Google review from a customer will show Google that you are good at what you do. Google will then rank your website higher on search engines as your business makes their users happy. This is the same for Facebook reviews too.

Why not create case studies using your references too. This is a great way of showing a business in a set industry what you do for other businesses in that industry. For example, if you have done a great job for a building company, sharing a case study will encourage other building companies to use you too. The case study will talk about the problems the client faces. It will also show what you did to help them and how they feel now.

Here at Creative Content Company, we can complete case studies for you. You could send us the details you have, and we can turn it into a case study. Or, we can have a meeting with you and your client. We can then create a case study based on what you both tell us. This is great for SEO, trust building and brand awareness.

This week is Update Your References Week. Why not take the time to update your references? While you’re at it, why not speak to our online marketing team about how we can help boost the awareness of your references. This will help your business achieve more online. This could include blog posts, newsletter banners or social media posts for example. You might not be believed when you say that you are great at what you do. But, when someone else says it for you, suddenly it is more believable.
