Struggling at getting engagement on your blogs? Then this is the blog post for you. However, there is something that we want to share first. Having a blog post will help your SEO and brand awareness. Even if you are getting engagement on your blogs, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t working. Engagement on your blog posts is like a little extra boost.
That said, a small change to your blogs can help you with getting more engagement on them. It’s simple on paper. If you want people to engage with and comment on your blogs, then you need to ask them too. However, it might not seem that simple in action. But, generally speaking, if people are asked to share their thoughts, they are more likely to.
So, at the end of your blog post ask people to comment their thoughts below. Tell them to share the blog on their socials so it can help their friends too. As they saying goes, if you don’t ask, you don’t get. This is as true in the real world as it is on the blog posts for your business too.
In addition, if people respond to your blogs posts and comment on them, you need to respond to them. Imagine asking someone how they are or what they think of something. Then, when they respond you give them a thumbs up or just walk away. They will be less likely to comment again. It will also stop the conversation dead in its tracks.
Take the time to respond to the engagement. Thank the person for their comments and say something that responds to them. This is for the nice comments. You don’t need to worry about responding to negative comments or those that are off topic. Instead, treat the comments like a conversation you are having with a potential new client at a networking event, or a friend on a night out. This will help to build trust for your business. It will help encourage more comments on your blog posts in the future too.
It’s important that you help other bloggers in your community out too. Go on blog posts that are relevant to your industry and expertise. Share your thoughts and support the blog of others. You can do this by agreeing with what the poster says. You can then add your thoughts and extra take too. The audience will be interested in who you are, and they will want to find out more. They can do this by visiting your website and blog. Avoid spamming and just sharing your services or products though. This can result in more harm for your brand than good.
