Does Your Target Audience Use TikTok?

We speak to a lot of people in business who ask us about TikTok. They have heard about or have their own personal account. They are now wondering if they should be using TikTok for their business. Many people that their target audience does not use TikTok. Surely, it’s just for teenagers doing weird dance challenges.

So, does your target audience use TikTok?

According to research by Limelight Digital, 61.5% of TikTok users in the UK are male. 38.5% of TikTok users in the are female. Are males or females your target audience? If so, then this is one reason to consider that your target audience may use TikTok.

Proxidize did some research in 2025. They found that 20.7% of TikTok users worldwide were men between the ages of 25 and 34 years old. In addition, 14.6% of users in the UK were women between 25 and 34 years of age. Another 16.6% of users worldwide were men between the age of 18 and 24 years old. Finally, 14.1% of TikTok users worldwide are females between 18 and 24 years of age.

So, if you have a target audience of males or females between 18 and 34 years, then they could be on TikTok waiting to come across your business.

House of Marketers completed some research earlier this year. In their research they found that 9.2% of TikTok users are over the age of 44. Meanwhile, 8.4% are between 45 and 54 years old. A further 15.4% are between 35 and 44 years of age. 36.1% are between the ages of 25 and 34. Meanwhile, 33.3% of TikTok users are aged between 18 and 24 years old.

So, if your target audience is between the ages of 18 and over 55, once again, they could be on TikTok.
