Creative Networking Is A Finalist For Networking Group Of The Year – SME Business Awards

Creative Networking was created in October 2014, just over a year after Creative Content Company was created. The idea behind the networking group was that it was an affordable networking group and the first non-membership breakfast event in Peterborough and possibly surrounding areas.

At the first event we had 27 guests for our guest speaker Chris Hornby, who spoke about the Art of Communication and the group has continued to grow from strength to strength with the help of our amazing admin lady Ann Hovell of FM.

We now run 3 networking events in Peterborough every month, including the breakfast event, a coffee morning and afternoon tea. We are still membership free and through our events we collect toiletries for the Rape Crisis Centre in Peterborough and food for Peterborough Food Bank – because it’s a way that we and our networkers can give back.

However, what we didn’t expect was to become finalists for Networking Group of the Year with the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards. The sponsor of this category is My Mustard and we are over the moon to be finalists for this award – especially when we saw who we were up against.

The other finalists for Networking Group of the Year include Drive – The Partnership Network as run by Ann Hawkins who has many years experience in networking, Grub Club Cambridge (they talk about food; No wonder they are popular!!!!), Pecha Kucha Cambridge (a highly popular and well-known tech style networking group), Women In Business Network Cambridge (a very well known and highly supported women only networking group) and Positive Networking.

As you will know from previous blog posts, Creative Content Company has been members of Positive Networking. It is a brilliant networking group with a different lay out and theme each time, unfortunately Thursday evenings just didn’t work for us so we had to leave the group – but we still highly recommend it to others.

We feel honoured to be up against some pretty awesome networking groups from across Cambridge and are already excited for Wednesday 5th April when we find out if we have won Networking Group of the Year at the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards.
