If you’re not sure what you should and shouldn’t be doing when it comes to writing a business blog post, then this blog post should really help you as a guide for both planning and formatting your business blog posts;

Firstly take the time to brainstorm your ideas in advance, if you set yourself time in the diary then you’ll have a mind block and struggle to come up with ideas when you are under pressure, so sit with your team, colleagues, other business owners or yourself to come up with different blog post ideas so you’re ready to go when you do have time to blog.

Think about the blog post you are going to write and before you start choose the keyword or keyword phrase you are going to use – then try and include this keyword or long-tail versions of the keyword in the blog at least 2-3 times per blog post.

When writing a blog post you need to aim for between 300 and 1000 words, this is around three quarters of an A4 page when you use font size 11 or 12. If it is going over 1000 words easily then break it up into 2 or even 3 blog posts.

It is important that you always include an image in your business blog posts as this helps them stand out, but it also means you have an image to share on social media too. It is said that an image also helps when it comes to SEO rankings too.

Make sure every blog post that you write has a link to any internal pages or external references. Internal links (from one page on your website to another within your website) can really help with SEO and help your website rank higher on search engines too!
