Here at Creative Content Company we like to class ourselves as a community minded company, we like to think that we care about our local community and do what we can to support those people, groups and organisations in our local community and we do this in lots of ways, including our membership free Creative Networking events, volunteered projects at Peterborough Prison, the Peterborough Light Project and such like – but also within our 3rd Birthday and the artists we have chosen for our celebration we have still been incredibly community minded.
Our Head Office is based at Norman Cross Art Gallery so of course this was the obvious place for our 3rd year anniversary, but at that time there was no scheduled artists so I was given free-range of the sort of art work and artists I would like displayed for the event – especially as we have the Macmillan Coffee event a week after where the work can be seen again.
So where could I start?
Having seen lots of work by residents at Peterborough Prison this was my first option for some of the art work, 2 pieces are already on the wall and the final piece, a dragon sculpture, is due to arrive on Friday and is just stunning!
Then there is an artist called Tony Nero, we have met at many networking events and once presented together to a group of small and start up businesses about our own business story. Tony has done some incredible work so it has been great to see his work on the wall already, with another piece of his arriving on Friday that is apparently absolutely incredible.
Melissa Lopez is the daughter of the owners of Norman Cross Gallery and is studying Art at Derby University. Melissa is a wonderful artist and great friend too, her work is brilliant and I am sure her Johnny Depp piece will gain lots of positive comments as it definitely stands out.
Then we have Fran who is the resident artist at Sawtry College, he has done some fantastic art and his focus, attention and skill of eyes is superb. There is one piece on the wall which the eyes just draw you in, I am sure you will know what I mean when you see it.
Finally we have Gilson Lavis, one of my favourite artists. He is the drummer for the Jools Holland Band but also a phenomenal artist with a style that I adore. As some of you may know I am in love with Rowan Atkinson and the work Gilson did of him was just fabulous.
Our 3 year anniversary will be marked with a celebration on the 23rd September that is sadly invite only however if you would like to see the works of art I have spoken about you would be more than welcome to join us on 30th September for Macmillan Coffee Afternoon – we look forward to seeing you soon.
