Your Twitter bio is like a little insight into who you are, what you do, why you do it, how you do it and how people can find out more about what you do, with a sprinkling of your personality and you as a person – sound easy? Now try and fit that into 160 characters!

160 characters is not a lot and in that space you need to put in your elevator pitch, but a really good elevator pitch – your twitter bio in 160 words is literally your elevator pitch on steroids and it will be seen by hundreds or even thousands of people so you don’t want to waste it.

However, you also need to remember that you will rarely write the perfect bio the first time around, so don’t beat yourself up about it, you can always change your twitter bio and add to it or take things away from it in the future.

This is my Twitter Bio;

Owner / Founder of Creative Content Company. Offering Web Content, Blogs, Social Media Training & Management. All Own Opinions. Ceroc Lover #CreativeNetworking

Under this I have my location as Cambs and then my website address.

My Twitter Bio explains what my job title is and the services we offer, it tells you that the opinions are mine and not the opinion of the company while including an outside hobby of Ceroc. I have ended the bio with #CreativeNetworking as that is a networking event we run and additional networking and talk of the events happens through this account.

The reason I recommend to put a hobby in there is because it gives someone looking at your profile something to connect with, it gives them a common interest or a conversation starter. As you can see I have put just one hashtag in the bio, some opt for two but I would never recommend more than that or it just looks spammy and trashy.

If you’re struggling to create your twitter bio give us a call, we’re always happy to offer advice and guidance or we can review your full Twitter account and social media for free if you book in for a review? Or you can book onto our Twitter Training workshops in Peterborough which you will find really useful.
